The Fine Art of Play in Makerspace (RDC Health & Wellness)
This session for RDC faculty and staff will introduce you to RDC’s Makerspace. We will explore several types of projects and activities, and we’ll review the materials and tools that are available. A variety of examples will be provided for inspiration. During the workshop, you will be involved in the creation of a very simple project using prepared materials. The space is open to all, so you can return later to extend your learning!
What is RDC’s Makerspace? This fascinating space on the second floor of the Library is a place where you can learn through exploration, innovation, and creation. The “maker environment” encourages active learning in a social setting. Staff are available to assist you in working with and learning about high-tech and low-tech maker equipment (including 3D printers, laser machine, sewing machine, and much more). There are also individual work spaces, a collaboration room, and a high-tech recording studio with a green screen.
